Embracing Your Unique Energy Blueprint: Human Design for Women of Color
Let’s dive into a topic that has been transforming lives and helping people tap into their true potential—Human Design. Today, I want to share the magic of Human Design and how it can empower Women of Color to embrace our authentic selves and shine brightly in this world. So, grab a cup of your favorite beverage, get cozy, and let’s get it started.
Understanding Human Design:
Human Design is a holistic system that combines ancient wisdoms including: Astrology, the Chinese I’Ching, the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life, the Hindu chakra system with modern science of quantum physics, epigenetics and biochemistry. It can help you understand your aura and its energetic blueprint, revealing the unique gifts, talents, and challenges that shape your life’s journey.
As Women of Color, we carry within us the richness of our cultural heritage, ancestral wisdom, and diverse experiences. Human Design is a powerful tool to honor and integrate these aspects into your life and work, unlocking your true potential and creating a more fulfilling, liberated existence.
Discovering Your Human Design:
To get started with Human Design, the first step is learning the basics of your chart, which is calculated by your birth details. There are five key components that define your Human Design:
Aura Type:
Human Design recognizes five aura types—Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Your aura type represents how your vibrational energy radiates in and out. It help you understand how the universe responds to you.
Understanding your aura type can guide you in making decisions aligned with your unique energy, allowing you to thrive in your personal and professional life, and align with the vibration of the universe.
Strategy
Each Human Design aura type has its own strategy for creating the most optimal experience in this lifetime. Your strategy is meant to help you make aligned decisions in any situation you encounter, from the most mundane daily choices to your most life-changing major decisions.
Authority:
A big part of Human Design is about learning how to make decisions based on what makes sense for you and your aura. Each person has their own process for that, and your Human Design authority is essential in that process. Your authority is like your inner compass, guiding you on your journey and helping you stay in alignment. It’s rooted in your own inner wisdom, and works with your strategy to reveal how you make decisions that are in your best interest. The most common Human Design authorities are Emotional, Sacral or Splenic, but there are six other authorities as well. Listening to your own authority builds trust in yourself and helps you make choices that align with your authentic desires.
Centers:
Your Human Design chart maps nine energy centers that represent different aspects of your life, including communication, emotions, work, purpose, intuition and instinct, processing information, managing stress, and self-worth. These centers can be defined or undefined, influencing how you interact with the energy of your surroundings and relationships. Understanding your centers empowers you to recognize your strengths and potential areas for growth and healing.
Profile:
Your Human Design profile reflects your personal journey and life purpose through the lens of interpersonal communication and your relationship style. It consists of two numbers that reveal your energetic dynamics and the roles you play in society. Understanding your profile can help you navigate your unique path and bring your gifts to the forefront. It can also help you release unnecessary roles you may be playing in life right now, as well as put more intention into how you interact effectively with others.
Empowering Women of Color through Human Design:
As Women of Color, we often face unique challenges, oppression and societal expectations that limit our self-expression and sense of worth. These factors often deter us from trusting ourselves to make decisions in our best interest. Over time, we are often taught to second-guess ourselves, diminish ourselves and internalize oppressive systems like white supremacy and patriarchy, and search for external validation from the dominant culture.
Human Design provides us with the tools to reclaim our power:
Embracing Authenticity:
Many of us are taught at a young age to change who we are in orderto fit into social, cultural, and family norms.
We learn to suppress our emotions (ie. “You’re too sensitive! You’re too angry.”).
We learn to silence our voices (i.e. “You’re too extra. You’re too loud. Don’t talk back.”)
We learn to take up less space (i.e. “Wait your turn. Ask for permission. Be more professional. Be sweet so you can please people.”)
Messages like these teach us to ignore who we truly are meant to be. These messages can make us feel like we’re designed wrong and need to change in order to fit in and be accepted.
Human Design encourages you to embrace your true self, honoring our unique gifts, talents, and passions. When you learn what’s in your Human Design chart, it can be a confirmation and validation that during the times when you felt most natural amd most like yourself, you actually were following your Human Design — you just didn’t know it then. When you utilize your Human Design as a blueprint and put more intention into your choices, you’ll start to experience more flow and alignment in all areas of your life.
As Women of Color, when we each embrace and recognize our own authentic essence, we can amplify our impact and create positive change in our lives and communities.
Cultivating Self-Compassion:
Understanding your Human Design helps you develop self-compassion and acceptance. Our society values shame-based tactics that force people, specifically Women of Color, to comply with authoritative figures. Practicing self-compassion can help heal years of shame, judgment and self-judgment.
By recognizing your strengths and challenges through Human Design, you can nurture yourself and your needs, set healthy boundaries, and engage in self-care practices that release your from self-judgment and past trauma.
Amplifying Collective Wisdom:
Individually, we all have gifts and talents that only we can offer the collective. A movement of collective liberation requires a diversity of personalities, roles and contributions.
Human Design shows us how to embody our inner wisdom. It invites us to tap into the collective wisdom of our ancestors and cultural heritage, which is rooted in connection to spirit, the body and our intuition. It allows us to honor our indigenous roots while integrating new insights and perspectives from modern science, creating a powerful fusion of ancient wisdom and modern knowledge. In other words, if you’re into movements such as Afrofuturism and SolarPunk sustainability, Human Design supports those principles.
By incorporating your Human Design into your healing journey, you have a tool to release intergenerational trauma on a cellular level. This process is often referred to as “deconditioning” in the Human Design community.
Building Supportive Communities:
Human Design brings people together through energetic alignment, fostering supportive communities where we can learn, grow, and inspire one another. There is a special chemistry created when different aura types and energetic gifts come together, allowing us to form special bonds and build together in ways we may not be able to on our own.
As Women of Color, we can create energetically harmonious relationships, and identify different ways for us to all contribute to the collective through our unique gifts.
Conclusion:
Dear Women of Color, Human Design is a powerful tool that can guide us on a healing journey of self-discovery, liberation, and alignment. By embracing our unique energetic blueprint, we can tap into our true potential, honor our cultural heritage, and create a positive impact in our lives and communities.
Through Human Design, we have the opportunity to embrace authenticity, cultivate self-compassion, amplify collective wisdom, and build supportive communities. It invites us to celebrate our diverse gifts, talents, and experiences while navigating our personal and professional lives with clarity and purpose.
